And in lieu of an end of the day sunset photo I offer you "a fish eyes view of the pier"

After a long, hard day I would rather be no other place than here.

This is how NOT to get a tan in the tropics. GIRL R U CRAZY!! Were in the tropics in December!

Have to say J, "You look captivating!" I, on the other hand, can't seem to stop squinting. What's my problem anyway!!!!

to a leopard shark!

Yep, I was this close.....

The boat....

These starfish were SOO blue it "blue" my mind!

NEMO!

And now together STILL having fun. Tell me why I don't want to change jobs?

Karen having a blast as well.

I'm obligated to bore you with fish photos right?

Look!!!! I'm underwater and breathing. Despite the crosseyed moment this is more fun than I can explain. I've never had 45 minutes go by so fast.

NOT our coolest moment....

We're next to jump in, getting that tingly feeling!

Buddy Check

What Dec. 24th looks like on an island. Happy Christmas.

Getting ready for more diving!

Day 2: Jamies back and she's chatting up Karen.

This, though a crappy pic, is the largest geranium I have ever seen!

Yes the end to another perfect island day. And I must say this is a GREAT cheap postcard sunset, don't you think? Sadly also the last day we got to spend in The Narima, so sad...

End of the day, back on land but the hard work never ends. It does look like their having fun huh?!

Back side of Koh Ha, this sooo looks like someplace cool to hide out for the day.

Me on an Nitrogen break, trying to look cool. It's hard though when all you can do is sit and squint.

"And these men get paid how much?" Ivan goofing and the captain sleeping. Niiiiiiice....

Karen suiting up, is there more I have to say?

The dive plan: "Always plan your dive & dive your plan!"

Our islands for the day, the large one is Koh Ha but the small one is the island we dived around.

Me, Karen (my buddy) and Ivan (our dive instructor) before the first REAL dive.

More beachy sunset goodness. I think I'm getting better at this!

Day 2: Shallow water dive
Went to 3M at this beach and then we had fruity drinks and Thai food for lunch.

Sidenote: This place wasn't standing anymore after the tsunami hit, ppl got out but it's also where a lot of the dive shop ppl live. Scary.

Dive Instructor, Ivan Hiver the Diver.
Funny guy and I must say a natural teacher, calm, cool collected the whole time.
His motto, "Because anyone who dives with me MUST look cool." Inevitably said whilst fixing some piece of dangling gear or other forgotten accouchement.

Dive buddy, Karen, on the right and Dive Instructor in training, KAren, on the left.

That's my dive gear. Put it together all by myself!

"Ugh, why can't they just leave me be! When she pust me down I am SSSSOOO attacking her foot!"

Jimmy, the shop cat. Really fiesty since all the dive instructors would walk by and get him all riled up before they left but since by this time I was missing the girls a bit I still had to love on him.

Standard sunset on the beach photo for our second day on the island. Cheezy, yes. Still pretty though.

First place I ever got to dive, nice and safe. Well except for the fact that I had about 40 lbs. of gear on my back and all the pretty blue time is slick as snot! But no biff's today.

Day I:Dive School
This is the view of Ban Saladan the main town in Lanta. Lots of resturants, dive shops and contraband DVD's CD's and overpriced jewelry.

These longboats came a couple of times to pick people up for different resorts. I kept praying that we wouldn't have to catch one to our resort. Not that the pier was much less embarrassing that this seemed to be.

Still on the ferry, yeah it seems that the ticket price at the pier was 160 Bhat/person. Oops! Oh well plenty of time to reflect, nap and get a bit of a tan.

Jamie on the "ferry" to Koh Lanta. Seems we were one of the tourist that got the "special tickets" only 500 Bhat!...for both?

'Cuz I'm a science geek that's why! And this is why the plane stays afloat!

Hack anyone??

Jamie and I were feeling rich what with Bhat, Yen, Won and Dollar! Whoo, Hooo!

After a day at the market we're bushed and feeling lazy. Off to Krabi and scuba lessons in the morning. Hope you weren't expecting great photos of palaces and temples we got lost in Jatujuk and were there all day! Ooops!!

Jatujuk Market in Bangkok, all the shops are about the size of a closet and packed with all the bounty of Thailand. In about 3-4 hours this path will be packed as well.

SO not fruit, need a bug for lunch? Yeah it's a SE Asia snack, Hmmmmm.

Snitched this from another site, but a fruit I fell in LOVE with amazing stuff, mangosteen, can't describe it as anything other than amazing!

I think it's a fruit? Kinda cool huh?
